This Graph application is designed with one thing in mind: "You give it data and it gives you a graph." Other things like saving, retrieval, printing, help and exploration are designed to be straightforward, unobtrusive and as automatic as possible.
When this amiable application has served its purpose and you are ready to explore vast amounts of features and resolution in detail then the Export tool gives access to the legendary Graph Builder application that adds a level of sophistication only obtainable with a more intricate and professional tool. Please use this Graph application to your benefit and when you need additional power then consider the Export tool and the Graph Builder application.
The following are some ideas on how to operate this application.
- Data is inserted into this application in two main ways, tables and fetch. The table entry permits keyboard entry. Click a column header to paste data into the column.. Click a row header to paste data into the row. Select the entire table to paste data into all columns (and rows). Click a cell to alter just one value. Use the Fetch tool to retrieve data from the contents of files (using file:// URLs) and web services (using http:// URLs). Use the data tool to retrieve example data and to clear data. Sets of data are limited to 20 elements (a.k.a. curves, bar groups, columns) The graph can also be exported to Graph Builder where you can add more data to graphics using point and click methodology and more general specifications.
- Click drag on a graph to scan individual groups of data.
- Use the preference tool to set data representation types and a few graphical attributes.
- Data and preferences are organized by project. Use the Projects tool to make new projects, remove projects and set a particular project to the current project.
- Use the Tasks tool to explore each task. While viewing a task click the Help tool to see help on that particular task.
